Talgarth Telecentre, which provides a publicly accessible internet
service, is also located at our Tower Shop premises.
We are one of thirty similar sites across Powys forming part
of the Telecentres Powys network which aims to provide public
access to office technology and the internet. The telecentre
currently has three workstations, with which we can provide a
wide range of computer related facilities for the general public,
including broadband internet access and e-mail facilities, at
a reasonable cost. A number of our volunteer staff are able to
provide 'jargon free' evening tuition for members of the public
in many aspects of using computers ranging from the basic skills
to more complex tasks. We also provide an outreach service for
those wishing to learn at home on their own computer.

The Telecentre is open for community
use and friendly help and advice during normal TIRC opening hours
and computer tuition can be arranged at other times by appointment.
If you are interested in what we have to offer please contact
us at the address given on the home page.
We are a voluntary organisation,
greatly dependent on grant funding and donations but we aim to
keep our charges as low as practicable. Examples of our current
charges are as follows:
Computer Tuition: £35 per 6 week course (normally 1
session per week).
Use of computer for word processing, web search and e-mail: £1
per half hour session (or part thereof), 50p per half hour thereafter. |
