LOCAL CRAFTS AND GIFTS
The Centre is a sales outlet for several local artists. Some of the artists whose work is on display are:

Pauline Patterson, Potter, Talgarth
Rosemarie Beeden, Artist, Talgarth
David Perks, Bronllys Forge
Annette Claire, Potter, Glasbury
Beth Williams, Soft Furnishings, Llangorse
Mike East, Stick Maker, Talgarth

We also sell an extensive range of gifts including greetings cards, many of which are hand made. The attractive displays inside the centre and in the windows are changed frequently.

JOB SEARCH
The Centre has a dedicated direct telephone line to two employment agencies. In 2002 volunteers attended an in-house training session in the use of this link. We are also able to connect people to the two official search sites on the internet.

CITIZEN'S ADVICE BUREAU
One of our volunteers is qualified to assist people in searching the CAB website for help with their problems. This service is by appointment only, during the hours when we are closed in order to preserve privacy.

BRECON BEACONS NATIONAL PARK COMPOST BINS
The Centre administers the BBNPA's discount compost bin scheme in the local area. This involves taking money and issuing the bins.

CREDIT UNION
The Centre is in partnership with the Brecon branch of the Credit Union. Work involves taking small sums of money from investors, updating their cards and paying the money into the local post office.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
Over the years, the centre has become a focal point in the town with locals dropping in for:

  information
photocopying, scanning and laminating
help with CVs
photos from digital cameras
bus and rail information
cards and small gifts
or just a chat

We are used as a central contact for many purposes e.g.
we hold the RADAR key to the public toilets located in the Square
we are asked by local organisations to sell tickets for dances, concerts etc.
we hold collection boxes for flag days
plans for the local relief road can be viewed

The Centre is also involved in providing work experience for students from local schools and for people with learning difficulties.
